Limited Edition Prints

Artist's Proofs

These are Open edition prints in the form of digital files which, when purchased and downloaded to your computer, can be easily printed on any home printer. Downloading of Open edition prints is fast and convenient and is a cheaper alternative to ordering hard copy prints shipped to the customer. It is then the customer's option as to how they wish to print the image using their own computer and printer. Please note that we cannot accept returns or make refunds on digital file transfers. See the FAQ section below.

The defining characteristic of a Limited Edition print is that only a set number of copies are produced. Once that number is reached, no more prints are made. Limited Editions are numbered, in a fraction format (example 15/100), signifying the individual print's place within the total print edition. These are signed by the artist, enhancing their authenticity and value.

We typically restrict the total amount of prints produced in the edition to fifty (50) signed prints, so that each individual work will retain its value over time and potential for increased value.

Limited Edition prints are available in the Art Shop through our convenient Cart ordering process using a valid credit card. Delivery options are available as stated below.

Framing options are also available but at increased material and shipping costs. This constitutes a custom order, thus there is no guarantee of availability. If framing of the Limited edition print is desired, please reach out to us on the Contact page for a quote.

Certain limitations and restrictions apply as noted in the sections below.

An artist's proof is created to check the color and quality of the Limited Edition print run. It is considered the production Master for the run. Artist's Proofs are similar to limited edition prints in that they are printed using the same techniques, colors, and quality standards. Artist's Proofs are also numbered and signed by the artist and marked as A/P. Artist's Proofs are released in smaller quantities, depending on the number of production runs over time. Due to their scarcity of these Masters, Artist's Proofs are highly sought after and can command a higher sale or resale price as compared to Limited Edition prints.

Artist's Proofs are available only as custom orders available through our Art Shop. Certain limitations and restrictions apply as noted in the sections below.

Delivery Options

Delivery of digital downloads is initiated and completed through our shopping cart. When your electronic payment is processed and verified a download link is immediately sent to your email allowing downloading of the image file. This is standard practice for digital transactions.

The following conditions apply only to the delivery of Limited Edition prints and Artist's Proofs (A/P). Depending on the customer location we typically use USPS or other service to ship all our Limited Edition and A/P prints. Delivery times will vary. Package tracking will be provided. We are flexible with regards to working with customers on each purchase to achieve the highest level of customer satisfaction.

In terms of size and the item purchased we utilize a range of advanced packaging materials to protect your artwork for safe delivery. We are not responsible however for the handling of shipments by the carrier while in transit but will work with you to resolve any issue regarding delivery should any issue arise.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is the difference between Limited Editions and Digital Downloads?

The major differences are in the final deliverable products and their price. Limited Edition prints come with a Certificate of Authenticity on the reverse of the artwork. Each certificate is numbered and signed by the artist. These prints are limited to a set number and not exceeded, which over time adds value to the art. Although digital downloads retain the same artist's copyright as Limited Editions, they do not come with certificates since the customer simply downloads a printable file of the artwork at a significantly lower price.

Can I purchase artwork I like in a larger size?

Yes, but only as a Custom Order. This does not apply to digital downloads. Please use the Contact page to provide information on what item you would like to purchase and the size and we will reply with pricing.

Is the artwork framed?

Limited Edition and Artist's Proofs can be ordered framed, packaged and shipped on a Custom order basis only. Framed artwork requires additional materials, special handling, increased shipping cost and delay in fulfilling your order. Consequently an add-on price for the artwork applies. Depending on different factors involved in framing any particular order, there is no guarantee of a framing option for each and every order. Reach out to us through our Contact page on a price quote for your order if framing is desired.

What is your return policy?

Ivan Keaye Art and Photography does not accept returns or offer refunds on any artwork purchased through our website's Art Shop in keeping with our No Returns and All Sales Final policies. Digital downloads excepted, if a physical print has a significant defect or damage, we will work with the purchaser to resolve the issue. We warrant that the materials used in our physical artwork are of archival quality. However, this warranty does not cover damage caused by improper handling, display, or environmental conditions such as extreme temperature, humidity, or prolonged exposure to direct sunlight. The Buyer acknowledges that fading or other changes may naturally occur over time.

Do I own the artwork that I've purchased?

Yes, however Ivan Keaye reserves the rights to the artwork purchased. Works are classified as Open editions, Limited editions and Artist's Proofs (A/P). Limited editions and A/P's are accompanied by Certificates of Authenticity which stipulate retention of Artist's Rights and Copyright. Open edition reproductions retain the same rights and copyright. The purchaser has limited rights with respect to the transfer (example, gifting) or re-sale of Limited editions, A/P and reproductions in keeping with copyright and intellectual property rights stated on this website.

What is your turnaround time?

Digital downloads are quick and easy, where turnaround time involves only a few mouse clicks. Physical print orders placed through the Art Shop will typically require 48-72 hours turnaround time. Large format, multiple items, or special orders (example, framed prints) may require additional time due to special handling and packaging to ensure safe and secure shipment, excluding delivery time required by the carrier.
