Photographs of Southport and More
Photography is an art of observation, finding something interesting in an ordinary place. It's not what you look at, it's what you see. The challenge of the medium is to authentically, stylistically and accurately depict what you or your mind's eye sees. Below are a few images, instances out of time, which I've taken and revisit from time to time.

The W. Brunswick St. Pier extends into the Old Yacht Basin providing a popular fishing and resting spot.

This public pier near the Marina extends into the Old Yacht Basin and is a popular spot for late day fishing. This panoramic view shows its popularity with both fishermen and photographers.
Early Morning Surf Fishing
With the Ocean Crest pier in the background, a photo of a couple fishing taken in late January. Daytime winter temperatures in the Cape Fear region rarely drop below 40-degrees Fahrenheit.
Ropes and Floats
A walk along the Dock Boardwalk presents interesting views of fishing nets and boats and nautical gear of various types still in use today by Southport fishermen.
